Calculations are presented for the planetary perturbations and orbital evolution of the comet Bowell (1980b), and the sudden change of all the elements of the orbit in February, 1981 is found to be due to perturbation by Jupiter. The changes of eccentricity, in particular, confirm the previous ascription of the orbit change to Jupiter in Buffoni et al. (1981).
