Scientific paper

Solar modulation (sunspot) cycles of galactic cosmic rays have been studied for the period 1688-1951 on the basis of concentrations of carbon-14 (determined by scintillation of gas-filled counters) in tree rings. Consideration is also given to the production of solar cosmic rays with reference to 11 year cycles of C-14 concentration in the earth atmosphere. The data are reduced using time series analysis and the results are generalized in the form of correlation functions and normalized spectra.
