Various selenodetic reference frames are considered from the point of view of the new data on the gravitational field of the Moon. Different models of the selenopotential are used for the determination of the orientation of the Moon's ellipsoid of inertia. The conclusion is made about the inexpedience of the reduction of the selenodetic catalogues to the principal axes of inertia of the Moon because of an uncertainty of the higher degree selenopotential harmonics.
