This proposal defines the procedure for verifying the dynamic range, limiting magnitude, linearity and digital-to-analog relatability and overlap of the visual IDT (IDT#3) on HSP. Eleven (11) photometric standards will be observed in the analog and/or digital, single and/or star-sky modes of observing, which span a large range in brightness (5 < v < 21 mag.). The test serves to verify the relevant CEI specifications and permits a verification of the deadtime corrections in the digital operating mode. Stars of fifth to sixth magnitude range are saved for the last observation in case the brightness of these stars causes a data overflow problem. Note: This proposal requires different sample times for star and sky samples which are not supported by the current instructions. The required sky sample times are noted in comment statements.
