Nova V723 Cas (1995) had an unusual light curve for a classical nova, which was somewhat similar to that of HR Del (1967). Spectral similarities also exist. Reasons are given, suggesting the presence of an optically thin wind before maximum, as previously concluded for HR Del unlike the nova optically thick winds usually observed after maximum.
