We present a study of the spin period of AM Herculis by examining circular polarimetry variations covering several decades of observations and RXTE ASM observations over the roughly 5 years that the satellite has been operating. Both sets of observations suggest that the spin of the white dwarf is not stable on the time scale of several years. We attribute this to an oscillation about the equilibrium period with a semi-amplitude of 14 degrees and a time-scale of about 3 years.
