The NOAA-TIROS satellite AVHRR's (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) image referencing is studied with respect to methods in use. New improvements, taking into account the very low value of their orbit excentricity are studied with an appropriate differential perturbation method. The discussion shows that the quality of image referencing remains strongly connected to the GCP (Ground Control Points) choices.
