In the present paper, an attempt is made to combine data from five instruments carried on board GEOS-1 with the objective to determine the characteristics of the ambient cold plasma, to assess the effects of spacecraft sheaths on the different techniques, and to establish cross calibration criteria. The instruments under consideration pertain to the suprathermal plasma experiment, the ion composition experiment, the plasma resonance experiment, the mutual impedance experiment, and the quasi-static and ac electric field probe. The plasma parameters determined from each of these experiments are tabulated.
