A model is proposed for explaining the light fading in stars of the Is(A) type. Photoelectric UBV observations of the antiflare star RZ Psc, made from 1972-1975, are used for the quantitative calculations. It is assumed that the fading is due to a hypothetical light-absorbing matter above the stars photosphere, and that the short-wavelength radiation observed in some antiflare stars arises in a region above this absorbing matter. The calculated indices B-V and U-B agreed well with the observed indices. The relative intensities of the star's photosphere are determined, as is the additional chromosphere radiation in the U, B, and V bands. The dependence of the absorption coefficient of the absorbing matter on the wavelength is found, and the values of maximum optical density are determined.
