An analysis of magnetic measurements carried out in near interplanetary space showed that the interplanetary flux from the August 1972 flare constituted a modification of the typical flux; the phenomena observed in interplanetary space were apparently caused by extremely oblique passage of the flux. The slope of the structural regions with respect to the sun-earth line and the ecliptic plane was large enough to produce a double intersection of the flare-plasma front.
