A formalism for solving Einstein's equations based on the description of a geometry in terms of the curvature tensor and its covariant derivatives is used to investigate dust exact power law (EPL) cosmologies. Although one-parametric solutions are obtained where some of the quantities are imaginary, no real solutions with both expansion and tilt are found, even for the cases of the hypersurface of homogeneity being timelike or lightlike. It is thus concluded that only orthogonal dust EPL solutions exist.
