Observations of mass ejection obtained on May 7, 1979 by five different instruments from the solar surface out to more than 100 solar radii are used to produce a three-dimensional density reconstruction of the mass ejection and to fit the best velocity curve for its propagation. The results show higher speeds at greater distances from the sun. The plasma acceleration was found to continue beyond the outer limit of the coronagraph view at about 8 solar radii.
