The s-process branching at Sm-151 is investigated, with emphasis placed on the determination of the capture cross sections, temperature-dependent beta-decay rates of the unstable isotopes, and thermal equilibrium time scale for the ground and the isomeric state in Eu-152. By using the steady flow model of the s-process, a neutron density of (1.3-2.8) x 10 to the 8th per cu cm at a temperature of 3 x 10 to the 8th K and an electron density of 10 to the 27th per cu cm has been obtained. The estimated range of the neutron density is determined by the assumed p-process contribution to the abundance of Gd-152, the key isotope of this branching.
