In this paper, we investigate possible relationship between magnetic configurations of active regions and geomagnetic storms. Three active regions have been analyzed using various observational data and modelings. Each one was observed to be associated with multiple full halo coronal mass ejections (CMEs). This study demonstrates that, although the full halo CMEs were originated from the same active region, their geoeffectiveness can be different, depending on the magnetic configurations involved actually in the corresponding flare activities. This seems to suggest that it is the magnetic fields involved in the events but not the whole active region determine whether or not the events are geoeffective. It may suggest a way for geomagnetic storm prediction.
