The 1.4% resolution 2.8-4.2 microns spectrum of the low excitation nebula GL 2088, shows an emission feature at approximately 3.3 microns and a broad absorption feature near 3.9 microns. The continuum infrared energy distribution from to 20 microns, is well fitted by a blackbody at Tc = 520 K. These results suggest a rough model for GL 2088 in which warm emitting dust grains, located in a disk like circumstellar envelope and formed in a carbon rich environment, are responsible for the IR emission. GL 2088 could represent a different evolutionary stage of protoplanetary nebulae, up to now unknown.
