We apply several well-known statistical sampling techniques to the constraints of cosmological parameters using the cosmic microwave background data. We examine and compare performance for random-walk Metropolis-Hasting, single-component update Metropolis-Hasting, Independence Metropolis-Hasting, Rejection Sampling and Importance Sampling. We also compare, in applicable cases, the use of mutlitvariate-t versus multivariate for the proposal function. We give recommendations for the effective use of each method and provide a guideline in using the appropriate post-processing diagnostics to handle the sampling
output.
