The hypothesis that the energy involved in extragalactic violent events
derives from the rotational energy of a large number of collapsing stars
or pulsar-like bodies in galactic nuclei has been investigated. It shows
that extended radio sources may be produced and energized by low
frequency electromagnetic waves generated in this way.
