The supergiant primary of the eclipsing binary system ɛ Aur is probably a star of high mass burning helium in its core. Cameron's suggestion that the invisible secondary is a massive collapsar surrounded by a cool disk of solid particles is thus given further support. A similar object with a disk may be in orbit around the supergiant 89 Her, which has a large infrared excess of unknown origin. The disk could be formed during the initial stage of collapse of the secondary.
