During year 2004, amateur observations of the planet Venus have been greatly improved. During the preceding years, only little amateurs were taking rare and unequal images. But a systematic survey has been maintained that year with images of very good quality allowing a detailed view of the venusian cloud's structures. They identify the main atmospheric phenomenons. Finally, the most remarkable observation is the detection of the surface of Venus in near-infrared for the fi rst time ever by amateurs observers.
