The KLL and KLM1 Auger rates for the free atomic Na are obtained from the resonant behaviour of the scattering matrix defined in the theory of the Na2+ + e- collision process, and calculated by the close coupling and distorted wave methods. Positions, widths and relative intensities are obtained simultaneously and compare well with experimental results. Theoretical results for the Auger decay of the 1s2S22p53s terms are also given.
