We calculate the heating rate from damping of Alfven waves in the warm ionized medium. An anisotropic power spectrum for magnetic fluctuations was used, which had been derived from electron fluctuations by kinetic calculations. Several damping processes were considered: collision Landau damping, Joule heating, viscous damping and ion-neutral collisions.
