A review of the present theories concerning the condition of the magnetosphere surrounding pulsars is given. The current theories for the radiation mechanisms are presented. The radiation mechanism of linear acceleration of electrons along the pulsar's magnetic field lines is singled out as probable contributor to the observed radiation. The spectral and angular distribution of the radiation is calculated using the Lienard-Wiechert theory and fast Fourier transform. The radiative transfer process for a cold plasma moving at relativistic speeds parallel to a steady state magnetic field is studied. The expressions for the cutoff frequencies and resonant frequencies are found and evaluated for the physical conditions thought to exist in the pulsar's magnetosphere. The shock wave mechanism for producing coherence of radiation is discussed. The existence of shocks in the supersonic plasma flowing along the magnetic field lines is studied and the thickness of the shock front is calculated.
