Scientific paper

The dependences between the period, visual amplitude, asymmetry of the
visual light curve and spectral type for long-period variable stars are
discussed. Maser emission is considered as a criterion of the
evolutionary stage. The detailed classification of Mira-type stars and
related SR-stars being at different evolutionary stages is proposed.
