We describe a Monte Carlo code that is used to simulate the radiative transfer in clumpy medium. The program has been used to study the molecular line emission from interstellar clouds and individual cloud cores. The same methods can be applied to continuum radiation. This way the effects that a clumpy density structure will have on infrared dust emission can be studied. Some results of these studies are shown.
