General Or Miscellaneous: Notices And Announcements, Corrections: Honors

Instead of holding two similar honors ceremonies each year, all new Fellows and awardees are now being honored at the Joint Assembly in the spring, and all new medalists are honored at the Fall Meeting. This change was recommended to improve both honors evenings. The ceremony at the Fall Meeting was becoming lengthy and, in the eyes of some, the quantity of presentations had begun to detract from the quality of the attention that the honorees deserve. This experimental change to the Honors Program suggested by the Honors and Recognition Committee, was instituted by past president Robert Dickinson in 2004 and will continue through 2005.
