Thanks to Chandra, an increasing number of extragalactic jets are identified as sources of X-ray and optical emission. I present ongoing work suggesting that all optical and X-ray jets are beamed, and more strongly beamed than average radio jets. This is expected for the ``beamed inverse-Compton'' X-ray jets, but not for the synchrotron-emitting X-ray and optical jets. It suggests that sample of optical and X-ray jets known today is dominated not by jet physics, but by surface brightness selection effects.
