The advent of large interferometers in the infrared and optical ranges (VLTI, KI, OHANA) will soon open a new window on AGN compact cores, accretion and ejection features, gas, dust and stellar content of galactic nuclei. Simple models of nuclear jets, broad line regions, circumnuclear disks and starbursts are necessary to interpret the expected interferometric parameters and will allow to constrain AGN physics.
