The paper reports the failure to identify the aeolian bedrock forms called yardangs in the preliminary analyses of the Magellan imagery of Venus. Yardang complexes, which should appear as dark lineation groups in Magellan imagery, were not found. It is suggested that, if yardang complexes are present on Venus, they would appear at best to be uncommon regional structures, and not common features as is the case for earth and Mars.
