X-ray observations of galaxy clusters provides unique insight into the dynamical state of of these massive objects. clusters. Identifying clusters in the early stages of a merger will provide constraints on the early stages of simulations of merging clusters. Measurable parameters such as galaxy positions and velocities, X-ray centers, surface brightness profiles of the gas, temperature structure and mass of the interacting gas are all key quantities for determining the dynamical state of the cluster. In this proposal, we request a 50 ksec for Abell 98 N/S and a 30 ksec exposure of Abell 2440 to provide detailed maps of the gas and temperature structure.
