The X-ray data of the ROSAT All-Sky Survey are searched for X-ray emission from Abell and ACO clusters of galaxies. The author presents the detection statistics of these objects and discusses the correlation between their optical and X-ray properties. The X-ray luminosity function for Abell-type clusters is established and is found to show strong signs of luminosity evolution.
