We propose a multi-wavelength campaign to observe the Narrow-line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) AGN Mrk 359, both with XMM- extit{Newton} RGS and VLT X-shooter to investigate the detailed X-ray and optical properties of a strong forbidden high ionization line (FHIL hereafter) source, and probe the connection of the X-ray emission lines with the optical FHILs. With this observation we will obtain accurate flux measurements of the emission lines as well as accurate velocity shifts. We will use these to constrain the density profile and geometry of the X-ray narrow-line region (NLR) and the optical FHIL emitting gas.
