Scientific paper

This special issue contains eleven invited review papers presented during this workshop meeting. The reviews themselves served as introductions to workshop sessions, and they cover interrelated topics dealing with phenomena by which varying magnetic fields induce electric currents in conducting matter as applied to furtherance of knowledge on the physical state of the earth and moon. The topics include electromagnetic instruments and methods, mantle conductivity, petrological parameters of the crust and upper mantle, association of electromagnetic transfer function with tectonic activity, induction in oceans, and conductivity of the moon.
