On the Venera 13 and 14 landings Doppler measurements were made of the
relative velocity of the flyby and descent modules. Preliminary
estimates from Venera 13 for the wind speed and turbulence in the Venus
atmosphere agree qualitatively with the results from earlier Venera
flights.
