Current sheets in the solar wind are signatures of solar wind MHD turbulence. In particular, it characterizes how intermittent the solar wind MHD turbulence is. The origin of these currents are still a subject of debate. One natural idea would be that these current sheet originate at the Sun and propagate out with the solar wind. In this scenario, it would be interesting to identify the source on the solar surface. In this work, we perform a statistical study of the current sheets and large scale magnetic network on the surface of the sun. As a first attempt, we argue that, from their occurrence rate, these current sheets can be possibly rooted as the boundaries of the magnetic network and/or supergranule on the solar surface. Implications of SDO observations on this topic will be discussed.
