Aurorae: Plasma Waves

Scientific paper

Some new nonlinear plasma waves at the local ion gyrofrequencies or low-hybrid frequency observed by Freja satellite in the low aurora (1700 km) are reported and analyzed with the wavelet transformation in the time-frequency spectrum, especially, the multi-frequency structures and their time evolution. Hence, the wavelet transformation may be a powerful method to study the time-frequency fine structures.
