Periodograms of time series of the 30 mb geopotential heights at 60 deg N and sunspot numbers for different winter seasons were analyzed. Amplitudes and the phase differences of the solar and atmospheric oscillations with the 27-28 day period testify in favor of the solar nature of the source of these waves in the atmosphere. Significant results subject to clear interpretation have been obtained only for a limited number of winters, and there are periods when the 27 day oscillations are absent both in the sunspot members and in the atmospheric parameters.
