VLBI observations of two SiO maser lines, namely the v = 1 and v = 2, J = 1-0, have been made with the Kashima 34-m and the Nobeyama 45-m radio telescopes. These stations provide a 197-km baseline that is suitable for observing SiO masers. We found that the same velocity components of v = 1 and v = 2 have the same positions around Mu Cephei. This suggests that the pump mechanism is by infrared photons from an H2O line, which could have astrometric applications.
