Calculations of the shear viscosity and the bulk viscosity of cosmological matter in the lepton and plasma eras are used to integrate numerically the Einstein equations for a Bianchi type-I space. Two solutions are considered in detail, one in which the lepton era, following a hadron era, evidences a monotonically decreasing temperature, the other involving a lepton era in which temperature increases as long as viscous heating prevails over expansion cooling, but subsequently drops. The findings suggest that the entire microwave background radiation may have been produced by the viscous dissipation of the lepton era.
