Propagation of light as affected by gravitation and nonlinear character of the electrodynamics is analyzed on the basis of a modified version of the generalized theory of gravitation, involving a nonvanishing magnetic current density and existence of spin. An ellipsoidal eikonal for the propagation of light is derived. The eikonal is an ellipsoid in standard orientation, but with its center displaced in a specific direction. A rotational symmetry is found around this direction. A possible direct experimental test of some nonlinear effects predicted in the paper could be based on observation of distortions in pulsar radiation. In particular, the directional effect of emission of radiation established in the study could manifest itself by time delay in the arrival of some radiation, and an asymmetric broadening of the radiation independent of bandwidth should be observed in this case.
