The paper discusses Geos-2 observations of the magnetic structure of the
solar wind during the flare on Aug. 9, 1972 and of the anisotropy of
cosmic rays in the wind. A model is presented which accounts for two
stages in the Forbush decreases and for a large cosmic ray anisotropy in
the second stage.
