A method has been developed and applied for calculating the colorimetric characteristics of the radiation fluxes from the sun and the stars when they are observed from space close to the horizon of the earth. Variations of the color of the sun and of the twilight aureole of the earth are considered for latitudinal variations of the state of the atmosphere, and also when ozone holes appear. It is shown that the method has high sensitivity and can be used for problems of remote probing.
