It is shown that the mean annual geomagnetic-disturbance level is
closely correlated with mean annual values of the solar wind velocity
and the IMF variability. The anomalously low geomagnetic-disturbance
level in 1980 was connected with anomalously low values of solar wind
velocity and IMF variability.
