We present an overview of the results from our survey for variable stars in the dwarf spheroidal galaxies recently discovered by the SDSS. The brightest of these new dSph's, Canes Venatici I, has a significant number of RR Lyrae stars and is an Oosterhoff Intermediate type object, much like the majority of the traditional dSph's. Some of the fainter SDSS dSph's have only a few RR Lyrae stars, which however better resemble those in Oosterhoff type II systems; not unlike what is seen in several globular clusters in the Milky Way halo. We present light curves for the discovered variables as well as color-magnitude diagrams for the studied dSph's. We compare the properties of the variable stars in the SDSS dSph's to those of the traditional dSph's and the globular clusters in the Galactic halo. We also discuss the implications on the formation of the Galactic halo.
