Scientific paper

We discuss the classifications used by the GCVS for pulsating
hydrogen-deficient supergiants. We argue that the current PV Tel
designation is misleading, and that it should be replaced by three new
classes -- V652 Her, V2076 Oph and FQ Aqr. The characteristics and
membership of each class are well defined.
