The vacuum configuration for the inflationary superstring theory is established. It is argued that the basic physical contents of the inflationary universe are characterized by the Novikov higher signature. Finally it is shown that the index of the Dirac operator defined in our inflated universe, and in the parallel shadow one, is indeed h-cobordant.
