In this paper, the vacuum C metric is derived from the metric of two superposed Schwarzschild black holes if the mass and location of one of the two black holes approach infinity in an appropriate way. The result shows that a vacuum C metric space-time is a neighborhood nearby the horizon of an infinite Schwarzschild black hole in which a Schwarzschild black hole is immersed.
