The climatology of the thermospheric neutral wind components at Arecibo Observatory (18.35.N, 66.75.W) was studied by using the Fabry-Perot interferometer to measure the O(1D) 630 nm emission from 1980 to 2010. Craig et al. 2010, observed a gradual consistent rotation of the thermospheric wind vector from a general southeast to a more eastward flow. Plus, a long-term trend variation of the wind components along those years was reported by Brum et al., 2010. Within this scenario, we have incorporated the ionospheric data we collected using the incoherent scatter radar during the past 30 years in order to further pursue the details of the reasons behind the changes in the wind that we have seen at Arecibo. The results of this investigation are presented here.
