An effort is made to establish internally consistent thermodynamic calibrations for a smelting reaction previously used to provide bounds on the size(s) of possible parent bodies for ureilites. Also obtained are microprobe analyses for both cores and rins of olivines and pyroxenes in eight representative ureilites, in order to establish minimum bounds on temperatures, and therefore also on pressures, within these bodies. Attention is given to the enigmatic oxygen isotope diversity of ureilites in view of internaly consistent thermodynamic calibrations and quenching temperatures.
