Integrated environmental management requires simultaneously considering many information classes, including environmental quality data, impact pathway models, economic analyses, the respective regulatory framework, and the priorities of the stakeholders involved in the decision-making process or affected by it. Urban environmental parameters are of great interest for future planning and decision making. The study focuses on the assessment of urban quality of environment by satellite remote sensing and in-situ monitoring data. Spectral signatures of different terrain features were used to separate surface units and to classify them into general categories for Eastern part of Bucharest town, Romania.
