Electrons measured by the Low Energy Magnetospheric Measurement System (LEMMS) instrument on Cassini show variable increases in background levels during time periods when sunlight enters the detector. The lowest energy electron channel (C0, 18 to 40 keV) is affected the most dramatically, but a higher energy channel (C5, 175 to 300 keV) also shows an increased background during these times. We have compiled a list of times when this problem has been detected, and we have also created an algorithm for automatically detecting its occurrence. We present the detection algorithm, along with the list of times during which this anomalous light contamination affected the data. Examples of the data during some of these time periods are also illustrated.
